Viewed through the lens of a camera and the eyes of a foreign visitor, Blackpool, the English coastal town, that has long been a destination for travelers and holidaymakers, reveals visual contrasts that embody the characteristic duality of its ordinary life.
On the iconic pier and promenade, which constitute the heart of Blackpool’s allure, the area bustles with laughter, amusement rides, and entertainment, creating an atmosphere of kinetic energy that bursts with vibrant colors and flashing lights.
Beyond the promenade and beneath the piers, stretches an expanse of sandy shore, etched with patterns drawn by the waves and imprinted with footprints that echo the ebb and flow of time. Children play in the shadow of the Ferris wheel. Families stroll along the beach. People appear as silhouettes against the backdrop of a panoramic scene, where the horizon seamlessly blends the sea and sky in a delicate, when it is delicate and the temperature happens to be mild, gradient of blues and grays.
Under the unpredictable English weather, where sunny days can swiftly give way to moments of brisk coastal breezes and intermittent mists sweeping in from the sea, these two realms compose the life of Blackpool that I've endeavored to capture in glimpses through my camera.
